Privacy policy
The short version: the Sprout Words app does not collect, store on our side, or share any personal information. It has no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking, and it never connects to the internet. Practice progress stays on your tablet.
Who we are
Sprout Words is published by Tiny Tools, operated as a sole proprietorship by Mark Nelson in New Mexico, United States (“we”, “us”). Questions about this policy go to support@tiny-tools.net.
The app
What the app does not do
- It does not ask for names, email addresses, birthdays, photos, voice, location, or any other personal information.
- It does not request internet access and makes no network connections. It works fully offline.
- It contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting services, and no third-party tracking code.
- It has no accounts, sign-in, chat, or sharing features.
- It has no in-app purchases.
What the app stores on your tablet
To work, the app saves a small amount of information in its own private storage on the device:
- practice progress, such as which words have been practiced, review timing, and stars earned;
- settings chosen by a grown-up, such as practice level, pace, and sound; and
- the parent PIN, stored only as a salted, one-way hash, never as the PIN itself.
This information never leaves the tablet. We cannot see it, and the app opts out of Android’s automatic cloud backup. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app deletes it permanently.
Children’s privacy
Sprout Words is made for young children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. It shows no ads and contains no links or purchase prompts in the child’s experience. Grown-up settings are behind a parent-chosen PIN.
Amazon
You buy and download Sprout Words through the Amazon Appstore. Amazon handles your account, payment, and download under its own privacy notice. We receive aggregate sales and store reporting from Amazon, not information that identifies you or your child.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and help, and we keep it only as long as needed for that. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace. Please don’t send a child’s personal information; if a child contacts us, we will delete the message after replying to a parent or guardian where appropriate. You can ask us to delete your emails at any time.
This website
sprout-words.com is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy.
Your choices and rights
Since we hold no app data about you or your child, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. You control the app’s on-device data and can erase it by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling. For emails you’ve sent us, contact support@tiny-tools.net.
Changes
If a future version changes what the app does with data, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date before that version is released. A change that involves collecting information from children would also meet the legal requirements that apply, including parental consent where required.
